With over 30 years of clinical experience in osteopathy, health sciences and kPNI, I look at health complaints fundamentally differently. Beyond pure osteopathy, I specialise in psychosomatics. Many physical complaints have their deepest origin in prolonged stress or an overloaded nervous system.
My work and the calm of the practice are an absolute Temenos for me — a sacred, shielded place. In an outside world that sometimes feels overwhelming or seems to be heading for an abyss, the microcosm of the consultation room offers the necessary counterforce and calm to counteract paralysis.

Many clients who visit my practice in Utrecht and the Marina Alta initially come for a concrete complaint — back pain, tension, fatigue or persistent physical discomfort.
But in practice, I often see something else.
When Osteopathy Is Not the Whole Answer
The complaint is rarely standalone.
Multiple factors are at play simultaneously — physical, mental and sometimes also lifestyle- or care-related.
Perhaps you recognise this:
• You’ve already tried various treatments
• Complaints keep returning or change form
• There is no clear diagnosis, but it feels that “more is going on”
• You lack overview or agency in your health
In such situations, osteopathy can be valuable — but it is not always sufficient as a standalone intervention.
In situations where multiple care providers are involved, complaints persist for a long time or previous treatments have been insufficient, a standalone treatment is often no longer adequate.
Then agency, overview and coherence in the care pathway are essential.

Important nuance: This pathway is specifically intended for situations with increased complexity, time pressure or high stakes, where continuous involvement is essential.
Clients with the Recovery or Premium package have access to the Enlace Smart Dossier App for secure local storage of all data on their own smartphone. Thomas M. Pfaff is affiliated as an osteopath with the Dutch Register for Osteopathy (NRO); as a result, osteopathy is partly or fully reimbursed through supplementary insurance. A GP referral is not required.

Liaison Spain — International
For international professionals, expats and retirees who regularly move between the Netherlands and Spain, continuity of care is often a challenge.
That is why I work alternately in Utrecht and Marina Alta, Dénia, according to a fixed rhythm of 21 days in the Netherlands and 9 days in Spain.
I am regularly in Spain for consultations with care partners and institutions, so that lines remain short and coordination runs efficiently.
